ENGL 200D (2024-2025, Fall) Topics in Cross-Cultural Literature

This course explores works by Muslim women writers from different parts of the world. It challenges misconceptions about Islam, Muslim and the Islamic world. Students gain an understanding of the relationship between Islam and culture and, more specifically, how Muslim women from different cultures express their relationship to Islam and what it is to be a woman in an Islamic culture.
