In this class, students use primary source readings from the 12th, 13th, and 14th centuries to get a closer look at the human lives and histories of those living in East Asia, Persia, and Europe during the time of the Mongol conquests and subsequent imperial rule. As the class unfolds, students develop basic research knowledge and skills including in-depth interpretation of sources and research-based academic writing. Offered periodically.
